Set the company's control person and the share of the company they own.
Use this endpoint to set the company's control person: the individual with significant responsibility to control, manage or direct the company. Exactly one control person is kept; sending this again replaces the one on file.
Part of People and ownership. For how this fits into onboarding, see the guide: Collecting company information: the people.
The control person's identity is verified after the company is submitted. Their phone and email are used to send the verification link.
Ownership
ownershipPercentage is from 0 to 100. Together with the beneficial owners it can't exceed 100% (a 400 otherwise).
- If the control person owns 100%, there's nothing more to declare: no ownership declaration or beneficial owners are needed.
- Otherwise, you must declare whether there are additional owners, and add them. See Declare additional owners.
Identity
identity takes either an ssn, or a passportNumber and passportCountry, but not both. Dates of birth must be for someone between 18 and 120 years old. The address must be a US address with a 5-digit ZIP code.
When you can call this
Only while the onboarding is a DRAFT and the contract documents haven't been signed. Otherwise it returns 409.
