Clients can update a worker’s taxpayer identifier on behalf of the worker.

A taxpayer identifier may be a Social Security number, ITIN, or other 9-digit number issued to the worker by the IRS or SSA.

When a taxpayer identifier is updated, the new number will be validated automatically using Everee's TIN Verification product (if enabled).

The request is rejected with a 409 if the identifier already belongs to a different active worker at your company. Setting a worker's own current identifier again is not a duplicate.
