Everee Integration API
Everee is a payroll and payments platform you can drive entirely through its API. You send us worker data and wage data; Everee applies payroll and compliance rules, calculates and pays wages and taxes, and sends the results back as reports, payment-level data, and general ledger entries.

How it fits together
Every integration is a loop with five stages. Each stage has its own APIs, and the output of one is the input to the next.

Webhooks tell you when things happen along the way, such as a worker finishing onboarding, a payment being paid, or a report being ready.
Three identifiers connect everything. A worker is who gets paid. A pay code categorizes each amount (regular wages, bonus, reimbursement, leave). A cost center tags each amount with your own categories, such as client, job, or department, so costs can be allocated downstream in reports and the GL.
1. Manage worker data
Create workers, and keep their profile, tax, and banking data in sync.

2. Configure payroll & compliance rules
Define how and when workers are paid and what rules apply to them.

| Organization API | Work locations, approval groups, and reference data: SOC codes, workers' comp classes, tipped occupation codes. Locations drive tax jurisdiction and local rules. |
| Payroll Calendar API | Create and manage pay period schedules (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly). |
| Pay Codes API | List and create the pay codes that categorize wages, reimbursements, and deductions, and set how each is taxed. |
| Deductions API | Let a benefits platform keep recurring benefit, retirement, and other deductions in sync, and reconcile what was deducted. |
| Leave Accrual API | Leave types, leave policies, worker enrollment, balances, and award rules. Leave pays out under its own pay codes. |
| Real Time Payroll API | Enroll workers in Real Time Payroll. Changes take effect at the next pay period boundary. |
3. Submit wage & timesheet data
Wage data is the core input, and for most integrations the best place to start. Everee does the compliance-heavy work of turning it into correct gross pay. If you pay hourly employees, begin with the ⏰ Guide to the Timesheets API.

| Timesheets API | Hourly employee wages. Send shifts, with breaks, or pre-classified pay period hours. Everee handles overtime classification, multiple rates and locations, tax jurisdiction, pay stub compliance, and corrections. |
| Payables API | Everything that isn't hourly: contractor pay, bonuses, stipends, reimbursements, and other flat amounts, each coded to a pay code. Payables can be processed on demand or with regular payroll. |
Both the Timesheets and Payables APIs accept cost centers on every wage item. Money moves only after a payroll admin approves it in the Everee admin portal, unless auto-approval is set up, so submitting wages is always safe to do early and often.
4. Retrieve payments & worker pay history
After payroll runs, workers can see what they were paid.

| Payroll journal and GL mappings | Each funding as balanced debits and credits with your GL codes, ready to post to your accounting system. Matches the Payroll Journal report in the admin portal. |
| Reports API | Run Everee reports on demand and download them as Excel files: payroll review, payments by pay date or period, funding, W-2, 941, 940, and 1099 detail, W-4 elections, worker's comp, garnishments, leave liability, worker census, and more. |
A typical post-payroll flow is: receive a payment.paid webhook, pull the payment data for that pay date to reconcile, pull cost segments to invoice your customers, and post the payroll journal to your GL.
Webhooks & embedded experiences
- Webhook events notify you about worker lifecycle changes (onboarding, profile updates, tax forms, TIN verification), payments (paid, deposit returned, payable status changes), and reports. Always secure your handler.
- Embed components deliver worker-facing onboarding, account management, and pay statements inside your product.
- White Label lets you offer Everee payroll as part of your own product, including branding and user access.
Conventions
Every request is authenticated with a server-side API token you create in the admin portal; see Authentication & API tokens. Requests & responses, pagination, and rate limits work the same across every API. For multi-EIN customers, see multiple EIN company instances.
