Submitting for Review

Submit the company, follow its identity verification, answer Everee's requests, and learn the outcome.

When the agreements are signed and everything else is in place, submit the company. Everee then verifies the identities of the people involved and reviews the company. You are told about everything that needs your attention through webhooks and the status endpoint.

Submit

Submit the company to start the review.

curl -X POST https://api.everee.com/integration/v1/partner/companies/$ID/submit \
  -u "$KEY:"

Submitting works only when the readiness check is complete, including the signed agreements and the funding bank account. If something is missing, the request is rejected with 422 and lists the missing codes, and nothing changes. Submitting a company that is already under review does nothing.

The status becomes UNDER_REVIEW, and the draft is locked: you can only respond to Everee's requests (below) from now on.

You can withdraw a company while it is a draft or under review. Withdrawn companies cannot be reopened; create a new company instead.

Identity verification

Everee verifies the identity of the control person, the beneficial owners, and a signer who is neither, using the details you provided. Each person receives a secure link to complete the check. Their progress is in the identityVerification list of the status response, where each entry has a personRef and a status:

StatusMeaning
GETTING_READYEveree is preparing the check.
LINK_SENTThe person has the link and has not finished.
IN_REVIEWThe person finished; Everee is reviewing the result.
EXPIRED_CONTACT_USThe link expired. Contact your Everee representative.
VERIFIEDThe person is verified.

You receive company-onboarding.identity-verification-changed whenever a person's status changes. If a person did not get their link, or lost it, resend it.

Responding to requests

During review Everee may need more from you. Each need is a request, which you see in the requests list of the status response, from List requests, and as a company-onboarding.request-created webhook.

Request typeWhat Everee needsHow to answer
DOCUMENT_NEEDEDA document. documentType says which.Fulfill with a file.
INFORMATION_NEEDEDAn answer to a question, in message.Fulfill with text, or with a file if a document is needed.
ADDITIONAL_PERSON_DETAILSAnother person who must be listed, such as a beneficial owner.Add the person with Add beneficial owner, passing the request's requestId, which resolves the request.
IDENTITY_VERIFICATION_NEEDEDA person's identity verification link expired, so they have to complete it again.Resend the link. The request resolves once a new link is sent.
CONTRACT_CORRECTIONA new signature on updated documents.Show the signing experience. It resolves when the new signature is recorded.

documentType is one of PROOF_OF_BUSINESS_ADDRESS, IRS_EIN_LETTER, IRS_FORM_944_LETTER, CERTIFICATE_OF_AUTHORITY, or OTHER. Upload PDF, PNG, or JPEG files, up to 25 MB each. When you answer a request, you receive company-onboarding.request-resolved.

A request can be answered only while the company is under review. After a decision, requests can no longer be fulfilled.

The outcome

Everee ends the review in one of two ways, and you receive company-onboarding.status-changed either way.

  • APPROVED: Everee has approved the company and countersigned the agreements. You also receive company-onboarding.contract-executed once Everee has countersigned, and Download a signed contract document returns the executed documents. From here, use the company API key you received when you created the company to call the rest of the Everee API.
  • DECLINED: The status response includes a decision with a generic reasonCode. Everee does not share the details of its review through the API; contact your Everee representative.
