Create a leave type

Create a leave type, like "Jury Duty" or "Bereavement". A pay code is created for the type at the same time, and returned as payCode, so you can use it to pay leave hours of this type. The name must be unique, ignoring case, and can't match a system default type. See the Guide to the Leave Types API.

Responses

201The new leave type, including the pay code created for it.

409A leave type with that name already exists, or the name conflicts with an existing pay code.

422The request body was invalid. For example: leaveTypeName is blank or isn't 3 to 100 characters, or alwaysVisibleOnPaystub is missing.
