These endpoints create a company and hold the information that describes it: its legal and trade names, entity type, address, and its payroll profile.
| Endpoint | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Create a company | Start a draft company. You get its ID, its own API key, and, if you gave a webhook URL, its webhook signing key. |
| Retrieve a company | Read everything you have sent so far, including the payroll profile. |
| Update a company | Change the company's details. Only the fields you send change. |
| Update the payroll profile | Describe the payroll the company runs: worker types and counts, pay frequency, revenue, and industry. |
| List NAICS codes | The industry codes to choose from for the payroll profile's naicsCode. |
Everything here can be changed until the agreements are signed. After that, the information that appears on the signed documents is locked.
Create the company first, then fill in the rest in any order. The readiness check tells you which of these are still missing.
