The rest of the contractor’s information will be captured during the embedded onboarding process. Note that this operation will designate the worker as a 1099-issued contractor without a formal employment relationship.
Verifying the contractor's TIN
Provide the contractor's Form W-9 information in w9FormResponse so we can verify their taxpayer identification number (TIN) with the IRS. Either socialSecurityNumber or employerIdentificationNumber is required, depending on the contractor's taxClassification.
Capturing the contractor's W-9
Sending w9FormResponse provides the W-9 tax settings only. Everee doesn't capture a signature, and treats the W-9 as complete. If you need a signed W-9 on file, capturing and storing it is up to you.
If you omit w9FormResponse, the contractor enters their details and signs the W-9 in the onboarding experience. You can't send w9FormResponse and then have the contractor review and sign it there. See Onboarding and managing workers.
